Unlike ballistic helmets, bump helmets are not made to stop bullets. But they have quite a number of uses. They are designed with extra impact resistance features to prevent you from suffering a concussion when hit on the head by any non-ballistic threats.

From camera mounts to NVGs, the bump helmets can come in handy for holding various kinds of accessories. Here is a rundown of some of the gears that can be attached to the bump helmet.

HELMET LIGHTS

It’s a no-brainer, lights are the most important accessories that you need on your tactical bump helmet. Holding your headlamp with your mouth can really get frustrating, especially when you have to do that for a long time. You can easily attach lights to your helmet rail to illuminate your path and to see distance clearly at night.

HELMET CAMERAS

This is for law enforcement agents who actually need to have cameras attached to their helmets. For this, you can attach a mount to your bump helmet for a standard night vision goggle (NVG). For the mount, you can either go with ARC rails or MOHOC placed directly on your helmet.

COMMS AND HEARING PROTECTION

You can either attach your communication devices under your helmet or mount it on top of the helmet. It all depends on your preference.

BATTERY PACKS

They are optional but they are good for counterweight. You can attach your NVG battery packs to a pouch on your helmet to give your more wear time for your NVG.

HELMET COVERS

A helmet cover does more than making your bump helmet camouflaged. It prevents it from scratches and improves its life span.
